Who we are
ChicagoBall (chicagoball.app and the ChicagoBall apps) is run by Darren Palandri in Illinois. By using it you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
Free to use
ChicagoBall is free for players, teams, leagues and tournaments. We pay for it with ads and sponsors. We may change or stop features, and we'll give notice before any change that takes something away from you.
Your account
You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email. Keep your email secure, give accurate information, and don't sign in as someone else. You must be 13 or older to have an account. You can delete your account at any time from My profile.
What you post
Scores, schedules, scorecard photos, comments, photos, highlight clips and live streams you add are your content. You're responsible for it, and you confirm you have the right to post it. League records (scores, box scores, standings, stats) become part of the public history of that league and stay after you leave, as described in our Privacy page.
Live streams and video
When you go live or upload video on ChicagoBall, you keep ownership of it. You give ChicagoBall a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, copy, show, stream and distribute it, to make and share highlight clips and replays from it, to show it on game, team, league and player pages, and to use short clips to promote ChicagoBall. This license continues for replays and clips already made, even if you later delete your account. When you also send a stream to YouTube, Facebook or another service, that copy is governed by that service's terms, and any money it pays you is yours.
Filming other people
Only stream or film games you're allowed to: follow the rules of the league, tournament, park or venue. Don't film anyone in a private setting, and don't stream minors. Turn off or mute copyrighted music if you can; YouTube and Facebook may block streams with background music. If you're in a video and want it removed, email us and we'll review it promptly.
Rules
Don't post anything illegal, hateful, harassing, sexual, violent, or that shares someone's private information. Don't post fake scores or stats, impersonate anyone, spam, scrape the site, try to break into accounts or systems, or interfere with ads (for example by refreshing pages or clicking ads to inflate numbers). We can remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules.
Organizers and sponsors
League and tournament organizers are responsible for their own events, fees, rules and sponsors. Arrangements between an organizer and a sponsor are between them. ChicagoBall isn't a party to games, leagues or tournaments and isn't responsible for anything that happens at them.
Stats and AI
Our AI reads scorebook photos to build box scores. It can make mistakes, and organizers can correct them. Stats, records and rankings are provided as is, for fun, with no guarantee they're complete or accurate.
No warranties; limits
ChicagoBall is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost data or lost profits, and our total liability for any claim is limited to $100.
Changes and law
We may update these terms; if a change is significant we'll post it here and update the date. These terms are governed by Illinois law.
