Chicagoball.com in 2007

CHICAGOBALL.COM - For 2007, we are going to take a new approach to provide as much content as possible for Chicagoball.com. In order to provide the most content and features, we need to get the scorecards from all of the games entered into the website. This will allow us to provide the rich features mentioned in the previous article for all leagues, teams and players.

The number of hits and visitors from 2006 is a sign that the softball community wants to embrace having all of this information available. The question then is what is the best way to get all of the content so that every softball player and fan can simply come to the website and see all of this information. For 2007, we are looking for support to join together softball sponsors, leagues, and players in an effort to provide all of the rich content the website can offer for as many leagues, teams and players as possible. We are looking for three components. First, we are looking for leagues which are willing to provides the access for scorekeepers to keep accurate scorecards for each game. Second, we are looking for fans or players of the game who may know of people who love the game of softball and are interested in making some money by going out to the park, watching games, and keeping the scorecards. And finally, we are looking for sponsors, specifically local bars or restaurants, which are involved in the game of softball and who would invest in funding the scorekeepers which then in return receive free advertising on both the website and at the league along with promotional events to host the teams and players which make up the league at their local business. We would like to start by providing such coverage for Westchester, Forest Park, and Mount Prospect.

Next, we would like to start to incorporate video highlights from games on the website. This includes old footage from past tournaments and new footage from future tournaments.

Working with guys like Bobby Plesneak, Danny Atkins, Gary Kasanders, George Bliss and even Jack Stout, we need to continue to find people who support Chicago softball and who can help in the effort to make Chicagoball.com our very own ESPN.com for Chicago Softball.
